Projects

The projects to develop Plaxis are focused on a number of subjects, such as constitutive modelling, structural behaviour, calculation procedures and mesh generation items. Some examples of projects related to released or planned Plaxis versions:

2D version 8:
- implementation of the Modified Cam-Clay model (this internationally well-known model is now also available in Plaxis)
- improvements of the report generator (new report generator in general 2D/3D output program)
- improvement of Plax Flow (robustness, compatibility with latest 2D version)
- implementation of the facility of parameter variation
- implementation of small train stiffness in the Hardening Soil model (strain-dependent stiffness, hysteresis)
- simulation of lab tests (triaxial test, oedometer test)
- Phi-c reduction after Updated Mesh

3D Foundation:
- Structural forces in curves (bending moments, axial forces of plate elements)
- Implementation of Ground anchors in 3D



2D version 9:
- extension of the soil tests (CRS, DSS, General)
- Regeneration of Staged Construction settings (to avoid manual redefinition after small geometric changes)

- Extended strenght reduction incl. layer selection (taking into account structural strenght)
- Partial factors in loads and material data sets (using Plaxis in the framework of design codes)

- Anisotropic shear strenght model

- Base resistance plate elements
- Line hinges between plates 3D
- Thermal expansion in 2D
